Ask Jonshan.
He answers his own WhatsApp. Fill this in and the page writes the message for you, so the first thing he sends back can be an answer rather than a question.
Your message
Hi Jonshan Safari, I would like to book a night of desert camping.
Send on WhatsAppWhatsApp opens with this message typed out. Nothing is sent until you press send there.
Or call +91 73004 46892.
Two places, and only one of them has an address.
The office is a door in the old city. The camp is open sand, and you do not drive yourself to it.
The office, by the Fort
Shiv Rd, near Fort Parking, Dhibba Para, Manak Chowk, Amar Sagar PolJaisalmer, Rajasthan 345001
The camp, out on the dunes
No street address, and none worth inventing: it is a ring of tents on open sand. You are collected in Jaisalmer in the afternoon and driven out, and driven back the next morning.
Tell us where you are staying in town when you message and the pickup is worked around it.
The pin is the office in town, not the camp.
Before you message.
- Jonshan answers it himself.
- Messages reach the camp directly. That is also why there is no form on this page: it would only put a machine between you and the person who knows whether the date is free.
- Ask before you pay.
- Send your date and how many of you there are. You get the price, and what is already covered, before any money changes hands.
- October to March is the season.
- The days are warm rather than punishing and the nights are cold enough to want the bonfire. April to June the Thar gets genuinely hot.
Most of what people ask before booking is answered on the homepage questions, and what a night costs is on packages.
